Performance Description

Norman Foote’s solo performance consists of music from his new release, ‘Always Be Yourself’; a comedic conversation with the audience, featuring ‘props with an attitude’, stories and adaptations.

What makes Norman so great is his ability to find subject matter that challenges and engages his audience - both young and old. He puts his theatrical and comedic talents to use as he weaves stories and paints musical imagery that audiences respond to immediately.

His claim to fame are his props with an attitude - simple by nature, fascinating by delivery. These characters enter the stage as inanimate objects and with the element of surprise and improvisation come to life, never failing to bring the house down with laughter and applause. Norman’s all-generations concert runs from 60 - 90 minutes.

RMOW Manager, Whistler Village Animation

Bob Andrea

"The entire First Night 2006 event was great and I thought Norman Foote's show in Village Square was the highlight of the evening. I had so much fun watching him work his magic with the crowd. Parents, teenagers and young adults were all having a blast. Everyone was connected through the show, it was really special".

Prime Minister Jean Chretien

Calgary Herald

"Norman Foote gave a command performance for Prime Minister Jean Chretien in Calgary. The Prime Minister sang and clapped along to Norman's song "Mainstreet Canada" and laughed heartily at Norman's Talking Head routine. Mr. Chretien quirked at the microphone a few minutes later, "Norman, I want that puppet head so that I can put it on the leader of the opposition party"

Nashville Symphony Orchestra

- Alan D. Valentine

I want to take a quick moment and express our sincere praise for the musicianship and talents of Norman Foote. We knew from listening to his recordings in the office that we would enjoy his music, but little did we know what a tremendous show he would put on.  The audience responded immediately to Norman's comfortable,  on-stage performance:  His unique physical comedy combined with his up-beat music and witty lyrics transcend the ages.

Concert Review - Calgary Herald

"It's easy to see why (Foote) is so popular - he's as much a comedian as he is a musician and he quickly gets the audience laughing."

‘ALWAYS BE YOURSELF’

"Norman is in a category

all his own”

Cloverdale Traditional School,  Victoria, BC

Jill Camden

My Cloverdale Traditional school choir just finished an evening concert with Norman Foote. What an amazing experience! The students can't stop talking about what happened at the concert and what they sang. They are especially proud of the song they wrote together during the afternoon songwriting workshop. They performed it that night to rave reviews! I've worked with Norman Foote and various school choirs for many years. Norman, we may be getting older but we are better than ever!”

Artist in the School Director, Yukon

Lynne Collins

“The kids at the schools responded with positive enthusiasm to the song writing workshop and thoroughly enjoyed Norman’s performance of music, comedy, story- telling, education, puppets and props!  He promotes a wonderful message: Norman encourages and inspires the children to believes in their ideas and themselves.

Performances to Grow On,  Ventura, California

Brian Bemmel

“I am a presenter of family and school programs and I have brought Norman Foote here on six separate occasions. That alone should speak volumes on the quality and success of his work for both family and school audiences. Norman’s concerts are packed full of comedy and wonderful engaging music. In addition to public concerts, his work in the schools is fabulous. Students and teachers alike praised his assemblies as “the best ever”. Not only are they fun, but they're educated too.”
